Bike day!!!

Kia ora bloggers, How is your day going

Last week Wednesday the 18th at school  we had bike day after morning tea with my class and even room 8 was there so the people that came to train us decided room 8 does the training first and then room 9. So then our class went in room 7 and did 3 activities, I felt excited to do the activities. First we went to the other side of room 7 and the 2 teachers that were going to do the activity first told there names and then when we went to the other side there was a poster with people  in it  and we had to spot things that people were doing while biking, walking, scooting and driving and if we get it right we get a prize.

After  that there was a  word search we had to do and if we finish the word search we go to the teacher and get a prize and then we had to look at our word search and spot the words that were not used and then in the box we had to make a sentence. I even got a prize for the word search .

Finally it was our turn to do biking and room eights turn to do the activities, I felt nervous because I  was not really comfortable with riding a bike and needed to learn so I gave it a go. First we did a helmet check like if they are hard shelled and they fit your head. Then we put the helmet on our head and checked the 4 2 1. Those  are to secure you helmet, 4 is to check the strands on the ears are not lose and not to tight just perfect, 2 is up on your for head to check it doesn’t go up and down  and 1 is to check the strand under my  chin. After we checked the helmet we had to check our bike by ABCD, A stands for air in our tyres so we checked by feeling the tyres, B is for brakes we checked it by putting our legs on the sides of the tyres and pressing the brakes, C stands for chain so to check that we looked at the colour and pushed the pedal to see if it goes smoothly and lastly D stands for drop and we had to drop the bike lightly on the ground to see if there is no noise.

There were less bikes so we had to share and I had to share with Blane. Blane went first so I had to wait but still listened to the instructions, Firstly we had to play red light green light orange light. So we had to hold the bike from the handles and walk with it  so when the coach says green light we go when they say orange we slow down and when they say red we have to push the brakes. After that game we played a game that we have to go across and clap the couch with one hand and control the bike with one hand. Then we played floors  lava, so that means we can’t put our feet down when it is floors lava.

My highlight for the day was doing the word search and the spot it game.

The challenging part was clapping with one hand and controlling the bike.

Do you like Bike riding?

have a great day bye!!
