Kia ora bloggers and viewers

Today in cyber smart we learnt about smart images and how people copy right things. The activity for this was we had to create images in different ways like searching, taking a photo, drawing and drawing on the Chromebook.

My highlight for this activity was making my image on my Chromebook because creating things is fun.

The challenging part for this activity was searching a picture because I couldn’t really find the picture that I wanted.

Have you ever drew a digital picture.

Here is my slides and hope you enjoy. Bye!!!

Writing a emoji holiday recount

Kia ora lovely bloggers and veiwers

We are back to school after the holiday and today we had to write a recount but not any normal recount a emoji recount. We first had to make a google slide and give it a title  and then make  a brainstorm of 4 or more things we did in the holiday. After that we had to write it in a slide but then add a emoji of how  we felt doing that activity.

My highlight for this activity was adding the emojis that tell how we felt because it is fun adding pictures emojis and lost of stuff to slides .

The challenging part was remembering each step we did because we had to write like where ,when, what and how.

Have you ever wrote a emoji recount?

have a  nice day and here is my recount.

Bye !!!

letter about trip

Kia ora bloggers and veiwers

Today we had to write a recount letter about  the orchestra trip we went yesterday. We didn’t have to actually give it someone but if we want we can. I wrote it to  my sister but I am not going to give it to her. We first brainstormed as class about what we did and some of the instruments name.

My highlight for this activity was adding paragraphs to my letter because it make s it look neater  and more writing.

The hard part was remembering each activity or song we listened to and remembering the instruments names.

have you everwritin a recount letter to someone about your day?

Have a nice day and here is  my writing and few photos.

  Wednesday 10th April 2024

Dear Sister

I am writing this letter to tell you about the amazing trip we went yesterday to the Manukau Symphony Orchestra at Due Drop Event center, but year 1 and 2 had to miss out and only years 3 to 6 came on the trip.

We had to board the bus at 11:30am  and would board back to school at 2:00. We weren’t going to bring our bags so we had to eat lunch at morning tea time so we wouldn’t get hungry and starve.  When the bell rang for the end of morning tea  we got on the bus and the ride was about 15 -20 minutes.

We finally reached the Due Drop Event centre but when we  got off the bus there were other schools that came before us and were leaving  but then other schools came but not all of them were primary. There were 1 or 2 college people or intermediate students. We had to wait for the performers to get ready and do some tries so meanwhile the people that had to go to the bathroom went and the others just sat and talked among themselves.

Finally we got to go inside and take a seat  but there were a lot of people so it took some time for the other classes to get seated, but we did wait and when I got my seat I got the middle one and that was the best place so I was so happy. All the performers were not there yet but some of them that were on stage checked if the instruments were working properly.

When all the performers were there I was so excited  and was ready to listen but everybody was talking. Then the MC came on stage and said a Pepeha and then he explained what is going to happen and introduced the conductor and the leader of each instrument.

Then the conductor signed to start and then the performers played music to start with. I loved the violins because the music of the violin was really calm and beautiful. After the first song they played another one and it was also lovely.

The Mc came onto stage and introduced Suzy Cato who was the storyteller and she used to have her own show. There were 3 stories and she read the first one which was down in the forest and when she read each word the performers played a note and the story sounded more interesting with the music.

After  The story the conductor introduced the harp and cello player and they played the “ Swan in the lake”. The harp was the lake and the cello was the swan. That was my favourite one because it was so calming and it made me imagine  the beautiful picture.

Next there was another story which was “The Stolen Stars of Matariki”. I read that book and then in the morning at breakfast time my teacher played a video of that story with the orchestra to show how it might be.

Next was another song which was really nice and after was another story which was “ The Emperor and the nightingale” which was really interesting to me and was my second favorite piece of performance.

After the last story The conductor gave us a surprise because then a star wars song was played and there was a disco ball with hundreds and thousands of lights. After the song Suzy was singing goodbye and the college students performed kapa haka to say thank you  and after that the MC, Conductor and Suzy took a photo. Then we boarded the buses and went back to school.

The Treasure in the garden

Kia ora bloggers and veiwers

Today we had to write a narrative  about ourselves and our friends found a box and we had to finish the story. Half of the story was writing and it was

You are out in your garden playing with your friends when you notice a small bump in your garden. You and your friends decide to start digging to find out what is below. If you found a treasure chest buried in your garden, what would you most like to discover inside? We were so excited to find out what was in the box, as soon as we got it out we….

My highlight for this  activity was writing and keep you sing our imaginations.

The challenging part was trying to add more and more to make the writing exciting and to add big and interesting words.

Have you ever found a box in you garden  or have written something similar like me?  Tell me if you would love to be in my story and actually go on a adventure on a magical ship.

Have a nice day and here is my narrative.

See you later Bye!!!

Weekly Quiz

Kia ora bloggers and veiwers welcome back!

Today at class me and my friend Zaynab did the weekly quiz because everyone else was working on the mahi checklist and me and Zaynab were finished all the work so there is a quiz called the Weekly quiz. In the quiz they give you questions and some options  like for example. There were even visuals where there was picture and they ask you what it is, who it is or where is it. We had to answer the questions on slide and then give a little bit information about the answer and a picture.

which year was the treaty of waitangi signed?

(a) 1820

(b) 1840

(c)1880

My highlight for this activity was making the slides and answering the  questions because on the slides we can add pictures and make it colourful. The reason I enjoyed answering the questions because searching is very fun and you can find information.

The challenging part for this activity was looking for the answer because on the page there were lots of answers and we had to figure out which one is the right answer .

Have you ever done a quiz?

Have  a nice day and here are my slides

Bye !!

Poster of keyboard shortcuts

Kia ora bloggers and viewers

Toady at Cyber smart we learned about  keyboard shortcuts and we had to make a poster of 10 different shortcuts we know and write it down on a Google drawing.

My highlight for this activity was adding pictures on my poster and making it cool.

The challenging part for this activity was writing the names of symbols because I did not know some of the names of symbols.

How many keyboard shortcuts do you know?

Pass phrases

Kia Ora my wonderful bloggers and viewers

As you know that on Tuesdays we have cyber smart! This lesson was about passphrases and we learned what is a good passphrase like with symbols, numbers  and capital letters. we made a poster about what is a good passphrase. We even did activity which was we had to make a list of words up to six and make 3 rows of the words. Next we had to roll 3 dice  as the same colour that the writing is in. Then we had to  make a passphrase not for our real Chromebooks our teacher just did on the white board . So we had to use the word that had the number, then we had to make some changes   with the words so we added   symbols, numbers and caps. Next we made  a poster about passphrases.

My favourite part was  making the poster because it was very fun creating a poster.

The challenging part the activity that the dice activity because we had to think about 18 words.

Do you use a passphrase?

Have a nice day and here is my poster. Bye

Smart searching lesson one

Kia ora bloggers

Today is Tuesday and we always have Cybersmart so today we finished the lesson of media and know we are doing smart searching. We had to search words but some words didn’t have correct punctuation, order, spelling, and little words. We had to see if different info comes or the same, then we take  a screenshot and add it to your slides. After that we have to mark it in a table where if those things matter or not. There was even an activity where we have to find the key words and type it in and then we have to write the answer in the table under it.

The part that was enjoyable for this activity was searching different things and taking the screenshot of them.

The challenging part was finding the key words because all the words seem important.

Do you ever search the key words?

Search theses words and tell me what came up.

Have a nice day and here are the slides we worked on.

Using media to create at cyber smart!

Kia ora Bloggers

Today is Tuesday so we had cyber smart , today we had to use media to create something and then we had to see if it did help us learn or not. There were 3 things that we could follow, how to draw a minion, how to create a pixel art and how to make  a mosaic art. I chose to draw a minion and after I did I made a pixel art.

What helped me learn

The Minion tutorial was clear and it waited for few seconds in each part and the person was drawing slowly so my minion turned out great.

What didn’t help me learn.

The pixel art was not really and because when it is the part to delete 11 to 1000 it just says shift but it should say click + shift.

My highlight for this activity was drawing the minion because I love drawing.

The challenging part for this activity  was the pixel art because it took few minutes to figure out how to delete the boxes.

Have you ever followed a tutorial? If you have please tell me in the comments how you experience was.

Have  a nice day and here is my drawing and tutorial I followed.

TRYathlon Weet- bix Tabloid day

Kia ora Awesome Bloggers and viewers

Today we had Tabiod day, well people were chosen so not everybody. We did Tabiod day in Keith hay park field and in Tabiod day we did  great and new activities. First we reached there in our uniforms for that day that was sponsored from Weet bix and the whole thing was from Weet bix too. There were other schools to, like May road, Hillsborough and other.

The first activity we did was foot ball and the coach that was explaining the game was from Hillsborough school, from schools we were given a number and we had to go in that team. After that game we had to rotate and the next game was field games. in that game there were three couches and they were even from Hillsborough school. We had 3 games Octopus that everybody knew, Paper scissors   rock battle infinity tag and  octopus.  We even played other games like scatter ball and even played another sport and that was touch  rugby. There was even a challenge called a Try challenge.

Octopus

Octopus is a game where there are 3 taggers and they call something out like if you are wearing what they call out or like what they call out you have to run to the other side and if they tag you you become a octopus but we can’t move our feet only  can move our hands and tag people.

Rock paper scissors battle

In that game there are 2 teams and hula hoops on the ground, then we have to hop in the hula hoops to the other side and even the other team starts to come to the other side and if we are in the opposite side we have to do paper scissors   rock and who ever wins they can go forward and who ever loses can go to the back of the teams line, then a another person from the team that didn’t win goes and does the same thing.

Scatter  ball

In scatter ball there was a line and fielders, there was even a hoop with three balls and other hoop all around. so the people in the line throw the ball somewhere and have to run as quickly as they can before the fielders gather the balls and pt it in the hoop but if the line people don’t come back in time they stop at the hula hoops until someone else goes.

Infinity tag

In infinity tag we have to put a tag and tuck it in and there are 5 taggers that don’t have a tag and they can steal your tags and then the person that doesn’t have a tag can steal other peoples and the game continues.

TRY Challenge

In the try challenge we had 20 minutes to do as many laps and  we had to ran and then there was a net so we had to crawl under 2 nets and then jump or go under big bouncy logs an the it was the mountain, in the mountain there are many obstacles in side like poles that we have to go through  in and the 2 big poles that we have to squeeze in and then   a circle hoop that we have to jump in, then climb the mountain and go down. After the mountain there are some wriggly poles where we have to go in and out and then there was stairs of hay so we have to go down, then we start again, I did 6-7 laps.

The highlight for the day was the field games because I love games and I knew them so it was fun.

The challenging part was the try challenge because getting inside the net made a traffic jam and the big logs were hard because even the same thing happened that there was a traffic jam there to.

Have you ever been to the TRYathlon?

Have  a wonderful day Bye!!
