Today we had to write a narrative about a girl named Isla and a dinosaur.

Here is my one

 

 

 

Isla couldn’t believe her eyes when she saw a creature like no other. She carefully padded the creature’s head without knowing it was a dinosaur. She felt as if the dinosaur was a new friend, Feeling the hard rough scales it was like feeling concrete rocky ground. Is love is just a little girl she didn’t know the things that could hurt her she wasn’t threatened by the sharp pointy teeth of the Dinosaur. Instead, she kept coming closer and closer. Isla felt a strange connection between the dinosaur and herself. The dinosaur started to like her and came to meet Isla and her treehouse in the middle of the forest. Soon later they started to meet each other a lot and play with each other.   It looked like she had a new pet. To Isla it felt like a pet dog, but strangely to the dinosaur she learned a new language which was dinosaur language,  isla learned how to speak dinosaur. One day when the sun was shining high,  a small ray of sunshine was waiting for her outside. It was the dinosaur that happened but then the world felt like a mother. Isla even learned a new language which was dinosaur language, Isla learned how to speak dinosaur. One day when the sun was high and shining,a small ray peaked through Isla’s window. Isla rubbed her eyes and stood up. The dinosaur was waiting for her to wake up.Isla asked what had happened  but then… the dinosaur ran aways and Isla ran after him  and then when they got there Isla was shocked and amazed because she saw the most magnificent thing in the world . It was the dinosaur forest which everybody wanted to see but never found and when Isla saw it she felt very special . Isla saw ten different 

dinosaurs with spectacular patterns  and colors. The dinosaur wanted Isla to meet his family and he even met his family. After seeing hundreds of animals  Isla thought she should give the dinosaur a name and she named him Rocky because his scales were rocky.  When Isla came back from the dino forest she found a letter outside her house and she got so happy because it was from her grandad, but when she read it her face fell because her granddad was calling her back to the city but Isla couldn’t leave Rocky behind so she decided to take him with her. She was afraid that the people wouldn’t let Rocky come in so before she had let she sent a letter to her grandad and told him about the information so he could warn people to not be scared. Then Isla’s grandad spreaded the information but 2 people didn’t like and didn’t want the dinosaur to come so they decided to kill the dinosaur before they came and the 2 people were big criminals. When Isla was halfway to reach the city she got really thirsty so she said to Rocky “ I will be back, don’t worry and stay here”, Rocky listened. When the 2 criminals saw Isla going they quickly shooted Rocky. Isla heard a huge noise and turned she couldn’t believe what she saw, Rocky was on the floor struggling. Isla ran to the rocky as fast as she could, she looked for help but was hopeless. BUt she saw the 2 criminals going and tried to stop them. It was too late and Rocky was gone, Isla sadly reached home in the city and told her grandpa. Her grandpa asked “ Can you describe the 2 criminals’ ‘?  Isla said “ they had a golden watch and the same rings’ ‘. Her grandad knew who it was and quickly ran to the police station and the police knew who it was and captured them.  When Isla got older she became  a writer and made books about dinosaurs. Guess what the dino’s name was, it was Rocky. One day it was Isla’s lucky day because the minister read Isla’s books and then decided to make a dinosaur museum and named it Rocky’s Dino Museum and the minister made Isla the owner. And she did the grand opening. Isla even had a part time job which was dino protection so at 3pm in the afternoon Isla would go to the dino forest  with her team and takes good care of the dinosaurs. Isla was really famous  and known till then Isla was remembered as Isla the great discovery.

For this  year we had our first lesson of cyber smart and some people in our class were new to the kawa of care so we learned about that. We first talked to the teacher about what is the kawa of care and then we had to do a task which was some people did a google drawing and soem people did a pick a path so I did a pick a path.

The part that i enjoyed for this activity was making the pick a path because it is fun creating a quiz for someone.

The challenging part was thinking of more questions for the pick a path.

Today we looked at our class artist’s art work and then we had to choose one and describe what your see and then add you opinion about what you like and dislike.

My favourite part was describing the art because there were so  many things that I did not know about because our class artist adds things about NZ

The challenging part was choosing a artwork because all the artworks were lovely.

• I don’t like the bees on the tiki because bees sting and I don’t like how it hurts.
• I love how Joane Webber has added the camper van because I love travelling.
• I love the coin eyes because it represents NZ

Today we were learning about the Treaty of Waitangi and we  did lots of activities like making a true and false pick a path about Waitangi, some information about a book we read and about Waitangi. After we did the 2 must dos we had to do a can do , so there was 4 tasks we could do and we had to pick 2.  For the True and false pick a path we had to think of some questions  and then write true or false under the questions. in the information part we had to answer the questions.  In the first can do I chose  to  find the definition of some words  and then make a sentence with those words. The second can do I did was alphabetic order of nouns, so in that activity we had to  put the places and people that were in the book Te tiriti o Waitangi  in alphabetic order .

My  highlight for the day was  the true and false pick a path because I love making pick a paths.

The challenging part was the must do because we had to think and find the questions in the book.

Today we had to do a activity in the summer learning journey, we had to do the super hero activity but the step up one. Before we did a kick start and today we did a step up. In that activity we had to make a another super hero from craiyon and then make a comic, the 2 super heroes were rivals (enemy).

My highlight for this  activity was adding the speech bubbles and colour.

The challenging part for this activity was ending the fight of the 2 rivals because I kept going and didn’t know how to end the fight and when.

The last 3 days our class had a reliever Whea Terri and she brought some cool activities. She even brought her 2 dogs Bonny and Klide. There were 4 AI things we did, Turing tumble, Moral machine and we even got to code the dogs.

Turing tumble

The first activity  was Turing tumble, Turing tumble is a game but it isn’t in a computer it is a physical game. Inside the box there were some parts and a book that had challenges we needed to complete. There was a board and the stands to make it stand, there were even some little pieces  that we had to put on the board , The book had some of the pieces that we have to put but we even had to add the rest, it completes half of it and it says how many more we have to use. There were even some blue and red balls that have to follow the code and reach the bar. There were 20 challenges that we had to complete but we had to work in groups because there wasn’t enough for everybody. Each challenge we use different pieces when it gets harder and harder. Our group almost finished challenge 3 but then we had to pack up.

Moral machine

Moral machine is a deciding game where there is a self driving car and it gives us scenarios like for example the self driving cars breaks fail and it has to make a choice of turning right or straight but if the car goes straight it kills a women, man , 2 kids and a baby and if it goes right it kills a elder women and man. We have to read the description and press on one of the pictures to choose. We had to finish the 13 questions.

 Coding the dogs

We even got to train the dogs, so we get a dog treat and to get that treat we have to give the dogs a instruction like we say sit and put the treat down and say leave and then get. We can even teach it some new tricks.

My favourite activity that I really enjoyed was Coding the dog because it was fun giving them instructions and teaching them tricks.

The challenging part was the Turing tumble because we had to thing very hard where we have to put the pieces and moral machine was also challenging because we had to make a decision on which way to  go because both ways somebody would die.

Today in Cybersmart we had to register to the summer learning journey and we had to do the superhero activity. We first had to go on the summer learning journey and click the word Craiyon and it takes you to a app where you search something and it will come up. We had to search the type of super hero we want such as like    Superhero with wings. We had to find the one we liked and download it and insert it in a new google drawing. Then we had to describe our superhero by looking at the picture and thinking of the abilities it might have, the the strength or what it looks like.

My superhero’s name is Renica and she has the power of lightning and the has the ability to use all weapons in earth. she is very brave and strong, she can even lift a house with one hand.

The challenging part was finding the superhero because it was hard finding the one that you would like.

The part that I enjoyed was describing the superhero because we have to look at all the parts and think very hard.
